I gave Claude Code my Elixir AI agent and one prompt: add full OpenTelemetry instrumentation like only a Principal Observability Engineer could. It read the codebase and instrumented the whole agent — a span on every model call, every tool call, and every loop iteration, with GenAI semantic-convention attributes and token usage. The app exports OTLP to a local OpenTelemetry Collector; dev vs. prod is collector config, not code. Metadata only — no prompts, no secrets.
