We work in the IoT space at Electrolux Group, supporting connected appliances across global markets. Within our organization, we scaled from 10 to 300 developers with just 5 Ops engineers in four years. We initially introduced SRE practices to handle this growth, but they proved difficult to adopt. Instead, we shifted to Platform Engineering as a more scalable and sustainable model. In this talk, we’ll share how we built an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) integrated with our cloud and toolchains, embedding SRE principles. The IDP helped us reduce bottlenecks, accelerate delivery, and allow teams to launch new regions much faster. We’ll cover the key decisions, lessons learned in adoption and team enablement, and how open-sourcing helped us grow its maturity. ⭐️ Gang Luo Engineering Manager at Electrolux Many years of experience in software industry, mainly focused on Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering. ⭐️ Kristina Kondrashevich SRE Product Manager at Electrolux Group In my life, I have been responsible for writing code, managing teams, and improving delivery processes. Today, as a PM at Electrolux, I support Platform and SRE teams to bring traditional product management practices into the way of working. We treat our developers as consumers and our main goal is to make them happier.
