In this workshop, Blessing Adesiji walks through Arc's nano payment system and demonstrates how to build agentic economy use cases using the X2X protocol and Arc's gateway infrastructure. He explains how nano payments solve the challenge of sub-cent transactions by batching off-chain signatures and settling them on-chain later, reducing gas costs to near zero. The X2X protocol leverages HTTP 402 responses so that AI agents can request paid content or services, sign payments off-chain, and receive access — all without individual on-chain transactions. Blessing runs a live demo of a sample application where an AI agent with a 1 USDC spending limit completes 98 tasks across multiple endpoints — quotes, datasets, compute via LLM APIs, and agentic treasure hunt tasks — all in sub-500ms with zero gas per transaction. He shows how the ephemeral agent wallet, gateway deposits, off-chain signature batching, and seller settlement all work together.
