ChatGBT 5.1 just dropped and do not be
fooled. This isn't just a small 0.1
update. This is actually a pretty
considerable update and I've really
really been enjoying this model. In this
video, I'm going to go over all the
strengths, all the weaknesses,
everything you need to know, and then
give you my exact perfect workflow I
would use to get the most out of Chat
GPT 5.1. You are going to learn a lot in
this video. Let's lock in and get into
it. So, here is Sam's announcement. 5.1
is out and it is a nice upgrade. I agree
with that. I actually think that's an
understatement. I think it's more than
just a nice upgrade. I particularly like
the improvements in instruction
following and the adaptive thinking. But
here's the part I found more important
and I actually see the true upgrades.
That is with the intelligence and style
improvements. These two things for me
have been massive in my test. I've been
testing 5.1 now since the moment it
released. I've gone through coding. I've
gone through creative thinking. I've
gone through just intelligence and vibes
and I have a lot to say about it. Here
are what my tests have shown me so far.
Let's actually start on the weaknesses
side here. It is marginally better at
coding. So, it is not sonnet level yet.
I've done some tests. I've had it build
a few apps for me. I've had it build a
few benchmarks out. It is marginally
better than chat GBT5. It is not better
than sonnet so far in my tests. This is
not codeex 5.1. So, this is not their
coding model. So, we'll have to wait to
see if a codeex model comes that is
specifically built for coding, but so
far in my coding tests, not as good as
sonnet, marginally better than five.
There's also no artifact type
functionality in the chat still. I
really wanted to see this. Claude has
this where you can have it build apps
and actually shows up inside the chat
experience. That doesn't have it yet,
but but for me, it's still a very, very
good update. Here are the strengths. It
is the first model I've used that has
actually come up with really good
creative novel ideas for me. So, I'm
working on an app I'm building out right
now. Has social network functional. It
basically makes building a fun gamified
experience. And I've been building this
out now for a while and I've been using
GBT as my co-pilot to help me come up
with new ideas. I'm going to be honest,
the ideas it comes up with aren't great,
but it's been a good partner to chat
with. The ideas that 5.1 has come up
with for me have been amazing. In my
test, it has come up with like literally
eight different novel creative ideas I
have never seen before from any other
AI. It has been excellent. So for you,
this is how you want to use it. And I'm
going to go into an exact workflow in
just a minute here. I'll show you
exactly how I use this with my coding
tools, exactly how you should be using
5.1. But this has been the best model I
have ever used when it comes to novel
creative ideas, bouncing ideas off the
model and getting ideas back that I
haven't thought of before. If you've
ever gone to an AI before and said,
"Hey, can you come up with ideas for
this app I'm building or come up ideas
for what I should build or content I
should write?" It always feels very AI,
right? Like it always gives you ideas
that no one would ever use or do. It's
just like, what kind of stupid idea is
this? This is the first time I've talked
to a model where the ideas are actually
interesting, humanlike, and novel. It is
very creative. Uh, it's been very good
at writing so far for me at coming up
with content. Has been very good at
that. And this might be the most
important part. It has been the best
vibes of any model I've talked to. It is
the It is the best to talk to model. And
you know what I'm talking about, right?
Sometimes you talk to an AI and it feels
like a robot. It doesn't feel very
human. It doesn't feel very warm. Vibes
are incredibly important when talking to
a mom. It's the same reason a lot of
people still talk to 40 even though it
is 10,000 times dumber than chat GBT5.
People still talk to 40 because they
like the vibes. They like all the emojis
it throws at you and it feels warm and
friendly. I personally don't like any of
that stuff. But for 51 for an adult
trying to use an AI, it is the best
vibes. It just feels the nicest, the
warmest while also being very
intelligent. It's also very
customizable. And I'll show you this in
a second when we get into GPT 5.1 in the
actual workflow, but they've added more
customization options so you can get
better responses out of your AI. So,
let's get into the workflow now and how
you should be using 5.1. So, the first
thing you want to do when you get into
5.1 is first you want to switch it to
thinking. I think the thinking model of
5.1 is the best, but you also get 5.1
instant now. Uh, as well as the 5.1
regular kind of auto. I like thinking. I
think thinking is incredible. I like to
use it. We don't have the 5.1 Pro yet. I
assume that's going to be coming out
soon. Pro is still GPT5, but for 5.1 we
get thinking auto and instant.
Immediately switch to thinking. Thinking
is the best. So, the next thing you want
to do is customize the model. They've
added some new customization options.
So, if you click your name and you go
into personalization, which I'm glad
they kind of lifted this the front menu
now, you can actually see base style and
tone. There's actually brand new styles
now. Brand new styles. I put in my own
custom instructions, but I have been
testing candid and professional. I like
candid. I would switch to candid. And if
you do candid, you're going to get a lot
more direct answers than you were
getting before. One of my biggest uh
annoyances with chat GBT in the past is
it kind of glazes it dance around. It
puts it tries to make you feel good.
Candid is a lot more direct uh and
better responses. So, I would
immediately go in here, switch the bass
style and tone into candid. Or if you
want to change to any of these other
ones, you can do that. I like candid.
Hit save on that and you are good to go.
But let's talk about the workflow now.
Right now that we've played with the
customization options, let's talk about
the workflow. Here's the workflow I
really like. What you're going to want
to do is you're going to want to
download the Chat GPT desktop app. It is
completely free. Go download it. The
reason why I like to use the desktop app
is it makes it much easier to use chat
GPT as a co-pilot for whatever you're
doing. So, here's what I like to do. I
like to be building my app, and you can
be using any app you want to build this,
whether you're a cursor fan, a codeex
fan, a Claude Code fan. Say I'm building
my app out inside of Claude Code. What
I'm going to do is exactly what you see
here is I'm going to have the Chad GPT
app to the side of my development
environment. And this doesn't just have
to be for coding or building. You can do
this for anything you do on your
computer. Have chat GPT 5.1 thinking up.
And what I like to do is as I'm doing
any sort of activity, I basically go,
hey, I'm doing this right now. Can you
come up with new ideas or interesting or
novel ways to approach this problem? And
what I've found through my test so far
is 5.1 thinking has been spectacular at
this. Anything I do, anything I'm
building, any task or kind of logical
challenge I have, I run it by Chad GBT
5.1 thinking first and it so far has
given me the most interesting, creative,
novel ideas and approaches to tackle
challenges of any AI model I've ever
used. Right? Again, I was talking about
earlier, I've been building my app, uh,
which is that AI vibe code app store.
The ideas it's been feeding me while
I've been building have been
spectacular. new ways to approach the
social feed in it, new challenges to
give, new ways to up engagement. It has
been so creative and novel the ideas
have been given me. It's been amazing.
So, my workflow I really recommend for
everyone watching this at home. Download
the Chad GBT desktop app. Keep it open
to the side of whatever it is you're
doing. If you watch this channel, you
probably build a lot of things, but
maybe you're just a creator. You're
doing other things. Even if you're at
work and you have tasks to do at work,
keep this open. Keep 5.1 thinking open
to the side so you always have it top of
mind. And every task you do, run it by
5.1 thinking. I promise you, the results
you're going to get are going to be so
much better than anything you've gone
before. And it's going to improve every
workflow you do, every task you do.
You'll find new ways to do it better
with this brand new model. If you can
incorporate AI into all of your thinking
tasks you do on a daily basis,
everything you do will improve and get
better and be smarter. AI just makes you
that much better. And this fi new 5.1
thinking model for me has taken my
workflow even to a higher level than it
was before. This just dropped. It's
incredible. If you want to stay ahead on
the cutting edge of technology, if you
want to stay ahead of your competition,
you need to be using the latest tools
the moment they drop. This is the latest
tool. This is the latest workflow. You
have to be taking advantage of it. If
you learned anything at all, leave a
like, subscribe, and turn on
notifications. I'm going to make a ton
more videos on getting the most out of
this model, so keep it locked in and
tuned. A lot more to come. I hope you
learned a bunch. Let me know in the
replies how you're using this model and
what and what your experiences have
been. and I'll see you in the next
video.
