You'll build two real routines from scratch: a daily meeting prep routine that pulls Google Calendar, researches your attendees, and posts a friendly Slack heads-up; and a lead enrichment routine triggered by an n8n form that researches the lead, scores them 1 to 5, logs them to a Notion CRM, and drafts the follow-up email in Gmail. Claude Routines is built into Claude Code on the desktop. Each routine takes a name, a prompt, a model, optional adaptive thinking, an optional GitHub repository, connectors (Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and more), and one or more triggers. Triggers come in three flavors: scheduled (cron-style intervals like daily at 6 AM), API (a cURL endpoint with a generated token you can hit from any app), and Github webhook. Routines can run locally on your device or remotely on Anthropic's infrastructure, so they keep firing even when your machine is off. The lead automation example in this video shows the full pipeline end to end: an n8n form trigger, a cURL call to a Claude routine, web research, a Notion CRM entry, and a drafted Gmail message ready for your review.
