The OpenTelemetry Collector pipeline: receivers, processors, and exporters

Days 17 & 18 of 30 Days of OTel! Starting the year by keeping the streak alive!! This week was all about the OpenTelemetry Collector pipeline. The idea is simple: the Collector sits in the middle and does the hard work for you. Receivers accept data from different places: OTLP from your apps, Prometheus metrics, Jaeger traces, even log files. Processors clean things up: they drop noisy data, add useful labels, batch data, and reduce volume. Exporters send the data where it needs to go: traces to Jaeger, metrics to Prometheus, logs elsewhere, or everything to one platform like Dash0. One pipeline. Many sources. Many destinations.
