Microsoft has just unveiled Kosmos, a fully autonomous AI scientist capable of performing 6 months of human research in just a few hours. Kosmos reads scientific papers, writes code, tests hypotheses, analyzes data and generates fully-cited scientific reports—without any human intervention. In one run, Kosmos can read 1,500 research papers and execute over 42,000 lines of code, making it one of the most powerful AI research systems ever built. Scientists have already used Kosmos for discoveries in Alzheimer’s research, cardiology, genetics, and materials science, with around 80% human-level accuracy in its findings. This is a major leap for Microsoft in the race for agentic AI and AI for Science, and it could change how scientific breakthroughs are made forever. If AI can do months of lab work in hours… what happens next? #Microsoft #Kosmos #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AIDiscovery #AIScientist #AIResearch #TechNews #MachineLearning #AgenticAI #FutureTech #Science #EdisonScientific #AIForScience #Neuroscience
