A year ago, building AI agents meant picking a framework like Pydantic AI or LangChain, defining your tools, setting up RAG, and writing a lot of glue code. That entire playbook has been rewritten. For starters, coding agent SDKs give us agents with built-in tools, skills replaced hardcoded functions, and a lot of RAG is being questioned. And here's the thing - Pydantic AI, LangChain, and LangGraph aren't going anywhere. They're actually more important than ever for production agents. But the way you think about when to use what has fundamentally shifted. In this video, I'll break down exactly how building AI agents has changed, when to use a batteries-included SDK versus a traditional framework, and give you my rule of thumb for making that decision. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Neon is my go to database for RAG - serverless Postgres with instant database branching, autoscaling, and scale-to-zero: https://get.neon.com/XcaDCCx ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - Want a complete AI transformation?
