Figma just opened the canvas to AI agents. I tested the new Figma MCP plugin with Claude Code (Opus 4.6) to see if it can actually design using your component library. I ran four tests: prompt only with Material UI, iOS 26 design system, a low fidelity wireframe, and converting a full Vite app built with Material 3 components from code to Figma. The setup is easy. The results? Not what the hype suggests. In this video we cover: - How to set up Figma MCP with Claude Code (plugin install + authentication) - Prompt-only generation with Material UI components - iOS 26 weather app design from prompt - Low fidelity wireframe to high fidelity using design system components - Code to Figma: converting a Material 3 Vite app into a Figma design - Side by side comparison of Claude Code output vs Figma MCP output - Whether Figma's AI agent actually uses your real components or fakes them Subscribe for no-hype AI tool reviews: @aiforwork_app Links: Figma announcement: https://www.figma.com/blog/the-figma-canvas-is-now-open-to-agents/ Figma MCP setup docs: https://developers.figma.com/docs/figma-mcp-server/remote-server-installation/ Figma MCP skills: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/39166810751895-Figma-skills-for-MCP
