Stefan Prodan - GitOps Evolution Through the Lens of a Flux maintainer

In this session, Stefan will share his experience as a maintainer of Flux CD (a CNCF graduate project) and how he has seen GitOps evolve over the years. He will start with a brief history of GitOps from the early days of Flux CD to mainstream adoption. Stefan will then discuss the current state of GitOps practices and the latest developments of Flux Operator around the Open Container Initiative (OCI), where OCI Artifacts are becoming the de facto standard for distributing the desired state of Kubernetes clusters and applications. Finally, Stefan will share his thoughts on the future of GitOps in the context of Agentic AI. He will showcase the new Flux MCP Server, a tool that connects AI assistants to Kubernetes clusters, and discuss the security implications of using AI in production.
