Terraform is widely adopted for its speed and simplicity, but security is often added too late, creating friction, slow pipelines, and frustrated developers. In this talk, I’ll explore how to make Terraform environments more secure without slowing down development teams. Instead of relying on heavy gates and complex tools, we’ll focus on secure defaults, clear boundaries, and simple Terraform features that act as guardrails. We’ll also see where DevSecOps automation, such as IaC scanning and policy as cod, fits in as a supporting layer, reinforcing good practices rather than blocking progress. Attendees will leave with practical ideas they can apply immediately to build safer Terraform code while maintaining developer velocity.
