Claude now controls your computer — mouse, keyboard, screen — exactly like a real user sitting at your desk. Anthropic launched computer use for Claude Code and Cowork. Claude can open apps, navigate the browser, fill spreadsheets, and run dev tools automatically. No setup required. The most powerful part: it works with Dispatch. You send a task from your phone — Claude executes it on your desktop while you're away. Anthropic's own demo shows a user running late for a meeting, messaging Claude to export a pitch deck as PDF and attach it to the invite. Done before they arrived. Claude prioritizes precision: if a connector exists for the service (Slack, Google Workspace) — it uses the API directly. Only if no connector is available does it fall back to controlling the screen like a human would. For e-commerce owners this is the automation layer that changes daily operations. Claude logging into your store analytics every morning, pulling sales and inventory data, building a report, and saving it to the right folder — while you're still on the way to work. Or scraping competitor reviews through the browser and compiling them into a spreadsheet. Currently a research preview on macOS for Pro and Max subscribers. Claude moves slower than a human and asks permission before accessing each new app. But the direction is clear: from AI in a chat box to AI that actually works at your computer.
